
Mr. Michael Baer (Founder and Chairman)
Michael has over 20 years of experience in investment banking, trading, and private banking in New York, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Zurich. Prior to founding Baer Capital Partners Ltd., Michael was the Head of Private Banking and Member of the Executive Board at Julius Baer Holding. Michael is also the Chairman of Charlemagne Capital; non-executive Director of Falcon Private Bank; non-executive Director of FinOps AG. Michael is a graduate of the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he currently serves on the Dean's Advisory Council.
Brij Raj Singh (Founder and CEO)
Brij Raj Singh attended Mayo College in Ajmer, and St. Stephen's College at Delhi University and later went to the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He has also attended the "Advanced Management Program" at Harvard Business School.
Brij is currently the founding Chief Executive Officer at Baer Capital Partners Ltd. (BCP). He was the Chief Executive Officer of Julius Baer Middle East which he started. The Dubai International Financial Centre was launched by granting the 1st banking license to his firm. Brij also successfully led Julius Baer to being recognized as the "Best Private Bank" in the region. He was previously a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch.
Brij has also been the Chairman of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) in the Emirates, serves on various boards, besides being actively involved with many profit and non-profit organizations.
Brij Singh regularly writes articles on strategy and leadership development. He is the author of "India Chalo" (2008), "Wisdom Beyond Borders" (2006), both published by Harper Collins, and "Building Successful Organizations - A Directional Approach" (1996).
Alok Sama (Founder and President)
Alok has over 25 years of corporate finance, capital markets and investing experience.
Alok was formerly a senior Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division at Morgan Stanley, starting in the firm's New York
office and then relocating to Hong Kong and finally London.
He established the firm's Asian Telecom practice, including the landmark IPOs of China Unicom and Korea Telecom, and advisory
assignments for Singapore Telecom, Telstra and Hong Kong Telecom. He led Morgan Stanley's European Telecom business with a personal
focus on clients in the emerging carrier, wireless, and cable industries, and on financial buyers.
European clients included Virgin Media Group, Cable & Wireless, Vodafone, Blackstone Group, Providence Equity, and Colt Communications.
Alok founded Morgan Stanley's investment banking business in India, and under his direction Morgan Stanley attained a leadership position
in India with a blue chip client portfolio including Reliance Industries, Tata Group, and Bharti Telecom.
Additionally, Alok has been an active early stage and venture investor in India, including the highly successful Sula Wines investment,
and he oversees the Beacon India Fund's growth capital investment portfolio.
Alok has an MBA (with Distinction) degree in Finance from The Wharton School, and a B.A.
(Honors, Gold Medalist) degree in Mathematics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi.
He is a former Chairman of the London (Westminster) Chapter of the Young President's
Organization (YPO) and a member of the YPO European Board.
Peter O’Shea
Peter is an entrepreneur and investor who spent his professional career at the heart of the global capital markets, initially with the Central Bank in Ireland and culminating in a decade with Morgan Stanley’s London office, where he built a foreign exchange and currency derivatives business and was a Managing Director. Peter served on Morgan Stanley’s Global Investment Strategy Group, wrote regularly for the firm’s investment research publications and has been involved with alternative investments for over twenty years.
